You might have noticed that our motto is, “You’re Busy, We’ll Help.” And here at MOD, we love to stand by that in every way we can, both in person and online.
In the past, we’ve shared how ingredient prep can actually be a better time-saver for some people than fully meal prepping. You can find that guide here, but today we’re looking at a few grab-and-go options, buildable meals, and store-bought shortcuts that can take the pressure off your week without taking away the healthy food you and your family deserve.

Grab and Go
These are the items you make once and pull straight from the fridge all week long.
- Hard-boiled eggs — Boil a dozen on Sunday and you’ll have a protein-packed breakfast, snack, or salad topper ready to go.
- Chopped veggies — Carrots, celery, bell peppers, and cucumbers washed and cut ahead of time are great for healthy snacking, especially when paired with dips like hummus.
- Washed and cut fruit — Prepping your fruit makes it easier when you need a snack or yogurt topper.
- Chicken salad — A make-ahead batch keeps well for days and works on its own, in a wrap, or as a salad over greens.
- Bean salad — Make a large batch and let it marinate as the week goes on so it only gets better!
- Overnight oats — Prep a batch of jars on Sunday night and you have an option for br
- Protein muffins — A freezer-friendly way to have a grab-and-go breakfast or snack that actually keeps you full.
- Freezer smoothie bags — Pre-portioned fruit, greens, and add-ins speed up smoothie-making in the mornings.

Buildable Meal Options
Like we covered in our Ingredient Prep Blog, the smartest move isn’t prepping whole meals, it’s prepping the pieces so you can mix and match all week.
- Rice, quinoa, lentils — A cooked-ahead base you can build almost any meal on top of.
- Roasted vegetables — A big sheet pan of whatever’s in season adds flavor and nutrients to any bowl or plate.
- Ground turkey or beef — Seasoned simply, it becomes tacos, pasta, or a bowl topping depending on the night.
- Roasted chicken — Shred it, slice it, or toss it whole into whatever you’re building.
Mix and match these four categories and you’ve got dinner solved without ever repeating the exact same meal twice.

Easy Store Options
Not everything has to be homemade to be a good choice! These store-bought staples are ready the moment you open the fridge or pantry.
- Tinned fish
- Pickled veggies
- Rotisserie chicken
- Hummus
- Yogurt cups
- Cheese sticks
- Jerky sticks
- Protein bars
- Frozen meals so there is always backup when the week gets away from you.

Other Meal Prep Hacks
- Buy in bulk, portion it out. If you’re short on time for cooking full lunches, a great option is buying a family-sized meal from Costco or Sam’s Club and portioning it out into Tupperware for the week. One trip to the store, one round of dishes, and lunch is handled through Friday.
- Hire a personal assistant. The number one hack for meal prepping is working with a personal assistant. Whether they’re handling just the parts you don’t enjoy or getting things started from scratch, they take the stress of planning and prep off your plate. Read our full guide here to see how our personal assistants are the #1 meal prep hack.
At the end of the day, meal prep doesn’t have to mean spending your whole Sunday in the kitchen. Whether you lean on grab-and-go staples, buildable basics, smart store-bought picks, or a little extra help, the goal is the same: less stress, more time back in your week.
Because you’re busy — and we’re here to help.
