With the first day of Winter in less than a month, Thanksgiving behind us, and Christmas approaching swiftly, there are so many ways to keep the festive ball rolling! While I’m sure many of us have already been making merry for weeks, there are still so many activities to add to your bucket list and ways to make the most of this year’s final chapter. At MOD we’re celebrating the season with a Holiday Bucket List Challenge and thought we’d share what’s on our list plus a few fun additions.
Pick Out or Put Up Your Tree
It’s time!! Pull that tree out of storage and get fluffing, or if you’re lucky enough to live where they’re native, go pick out a fresh Fir.
Break Out Your Sweaters
Whether or not you like the cold, lean into the cozy by breaking out all of the layers. Celebrate by finding something new to add to your sweater rotation.
Bake Christmas Cookies
National Christmas Cookie Day is right around the corner—the perfect time to check this off your list with homemade sugar cookies, gingerbread, or biscotti!
Go to a Holiday Market
There’s bound to be a holiday market somewhere near you this season—its the best place to find unique, local items for everyone on your list while supporting small businesses!
Wrap Presents
Have you found your wrapping paper for the year? If you’re looking for ways to change it up, check out these more sustainable options for Christmas wrapping. So unique and so cute!
Watch a Holiday Movie
There’s no shortage of new holiday movies, and you can’t go wrong with the classics.
Send Christmas Cards
With so many options online and off, Christmas cards are easier and more customizable than ever.
Go See Christmas Lights
Check out your neighbors’ or go to a local light festival! If you’re in Dallas, you’ll have to check out the Arboretum’s annual light show. And Denver friends should go to the Downtown Holiday Lights Tour.
Go Iceskating
Test your balance and maybe learn a new skill. Or find a very comfortable seat in the stands with a warm cup of cocoa and cheer on the rest of your party.
Make Christmas Crafts
Whether you try your hand at homemade garlands, ornaments, or cards, get crafty!
Volunteer and Donate
Food banks, toy drives, and clothing drives are all in need of support and donations this time of year.
Go See a Holiday Production
Look up your local theatre’s programming to see if there are any holiday events. You’re bound to find a production of A Christmas Carol or the Nutcracker, and there is no better way to get in the holiday spirit than gather with your community and support your local artists.
Get a Holiday Manicure
Spice up your fits with a festive set of nails for the season!
Enjoy checking off this list and making the most of your Holiday season! Don’t forget, if you’ve made the last and don’t have the time to check it off, give us a call!
