There are a lot of tasks you would expect to hear about from a company of Virtual and Personal Assistants. For example…How great we are at organizing and keeping things organized. How we make a mean spreadsheet. How we don’t bat an eye at meal prep and laundry. And how we are pros at inbox organization.
However, there are other tasks that you may not expect our assistants to be tackling for some of their clients. Today we’re exploring some tasks you didn’t know you can delegate, even though you may have been wanting to. We even asked some of our assistants for the tasks they’ve unexpectedly taken on—hear what they have to say!

Floral Arrangements:
Do you love having flowers in your home or office but don’t have the time (or, let’s be honest, the desire) to pick them out, clean them up, and arrange them? Not to mention the clean up and replacement once they die. Hear how Nicole got to flex her creative muscles to help her client:
“I’ve recently was asked to do a floral arrangement for one of my clients. He usually orders orchids every two months but this time he asked me to do something different and he ended up falling in love with it. I love when I get to be creative like this, doesn’t come often but it’s exciting.” – Nicole
Website Quality Control:
Are you entering a period of transition for your business’s website? Bring on a virtual assistant to oversee the changes to ensure quality control in the process!
“One of my clients came on for general virtual assistance. I had no idea what I was getting into, except that they said it would be data entry tasks and maybe some personal assistance. What it ended up being was quality control for their new website as it was being built! I’ve been working with them for nearly a year now, and the work continues to be interesting as their company grows.” – Theresa
Social Media Content:
Running your small business is hard enough, and having to think about social media on top of that is overwhelming. Luckily, many of our virtual assistants are skilled in social media content creation and/or management.
“In addition to assisting with a client’s brokerage business, I started helping her with social media content. The exciting part is that she is incredibly active in charitable organizations, fundraisers, and community support. I love seeing all the great things she does outside her brokerage job and the positive impact she makes in her community. I have the privilege of sharing that with her social media audience.” – Maria
Some more tasks you may not have considered delegating:
- Waiting on hold and handle time consuming calls (or in virtual cues for things like concert ticket sales!)
- Taking your car in for services like oil changes and washes
- Packing your home for a move
- Researching just about anything: speaking opportunities, getaways, summer camps and schools, etc.
- Planning parties and events all year round.
Our list of offered services, while popular, are not limited to that selection! All of our assistants are skilled in many different areas and often have talents just waiting to be discovered. We always recommend talking with your assistant to learn more about the breadth of their skillset to see if they might be able to take over any tasks you may not have initially considered delegating.
You never know if they might be skilled with flowers and can cheer up your home or office each week with an arrangement. Or if they know how to curate and create social media content so that you don’t have to worry about online growth. Or if they understand your website from the back end and can manage the occasional update and ongoing quality control.
